Learning Greek

The Hellenic Foundation for Culture serves as a point of reference for the Greek language and its teaching abroad. The Greek language is taught at all levels at the HFC branches in Berlin, Alexandria and Odessa. Students can come in at any level:

  • beginners
  • intermediate
  • advanced

There are also special classes

  • for children and adolescents
  • for students with a knowledge of ancient Greek
  • conversation skills
  • composition exercises.

The Branches and the Centres of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture provide the possibility of teaching the ancient Greek language with emphasis on its relation with the Modern Greek language, as well as with the teaching of ecclesiastic language, namely common Alexandrian.
Moreover, HFC Branches very often organise seminars for Greek Language teachers. The HFC Branches are ordered by the Centre for the Greek Language as the only examination centres, concerning the acquisition of the Certificate of Study of the Greek language in Ukraine, Moldavia, Germany and Egypt.
